The Indonesian Cyber Media Association (AMSI) is once again organizing its annual Indonesia Digital Conference (IDC) 2025, scheduled to take place at The Hub Epicentrum, South Jakarta, from October 22–23, 2025.
This year’s IDC centers around the theme “Sovereign AI: Towards Digital Independence,” highlighting the crucial importance of sovereignty and autonomy for the media industry as it navigates the waves of AI-driven digital transformation.
Two prominent keynote speakers are confirmed to attend: Supratman Andi Agtas, the Minister of Law of the Republic of Indonesia, and Nezar Patria, the Vice Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs.
During the event, AMSI will also symbolically express its support for the revision of the Copyright Law and Indonesia’s Proposal for Copyright & Digital Environment. Wahyu Dhyatmika, Chairman of AMSI, stated that the theme for this year’s Indonesia Digital Conference was deliberately chosen to address AI sovereignty because all stakeholders in their industry must understand the key to surviving this technological disruption.
“Without AI sovereignty, all our industrial and business sectors, especially the information and media ecosystem, could face an existential crisis,” he remarked in Jakarta 21 October 2025.
The evolution of AI presents risks of disruption for the media industry, yet it also unlocks new business opportunities and innovations. Digital-based media are compelled to adapt, enhance organizational performance, and maintain credibility, accountability, and transparency to foster an inclusive and democratic digital ecosystem.
Ismoko Widjaya, Chairman of the Indonesia Digital Conference 2025 Committee, commented that the current business landscape for the digital media industry is extremely challenging, grappling with AI disruption, algorithm changes, and waves of layoffs.
The Indonesia Digital Conference (IDC 2025), with its theme “Sovereign AI: Towards Digital Independence,” brings together expert and even market-leading speakers from their respective industries.
“We hope that IDC AMSI 2025 can provide a breath of fresh air, solutions, and hope for the digital media industry, not just to survive in this industry but also to grow and remain sustainable,” he expressed.
IDC 2025 will also feature sessions offering practical insights for media organizations, including strategies for securing funding and discovering new, sustainable business models in the digital era.
In addition to panel discussions, the second day of IDC 2025 will be dedicated to thematic workshops, bringing together mainstream and new media to foster collaboration and strengthen capabilities amid the evolving digital landscape.
